About the Project
The Route 1 Gateway Project is comprised of two contracts with the Province of New Brunswick, a Design Build (DB) Contract and an Operations, Maintenance and Rehabilitation (OMR) Contract. Dexter Construction is responsible for the DB of the new Route 1 Gateway. Transfield Dexter Gateway Services Ltd. is responsible for the OMR, a joint venture established between Dexter Construction and Transfield Services.
The OMR includes 239 kilometers of four-lane controlled access divided highway located or to be located on the Route 1 Gateway between the easterly boundary of the Canada Border Services Agency at St. Stephen (kilometer 0) and Route 106 (kilometer 239).
There are four maintenance depots strategically located at the following exits:
- Waweig Depot located off Exit 25
- Musquash Depot located off Exit 96
- Hampton Depot (Main Office) located off Exit 158
- Springdale Depot located off Exit 211
